In a remarkable celebration of her contributions to the sport of karate, Jade Honeywood has been honored with The Pauline Bindra Award for Leadership and Commercial Acumen at The United Kingdom Karate Awards (TUKKA 2024). The prestigious event took place at the historic Scotsman Hotel in Edinburgh, bringing together luminaries from the world of karate and beyond.

Expressing her gratitude, Honeywood acknowledged the support and mentorship she has received throughout her career. She paid tribute to her idol and former National and Regional coach, Molly Samuel-Leport MBE, who delivered a heartfelt speech on why Honeywood was a deserving recipient of this award. Honeywood expressed her deep appreciation for Samuel-Leport’s guidance, both during her time as an athlete and throughout her coaching career, stating, “Thank you Sensei Molly Samuel-Leport for your support and leadership when I was an athlete and for your support and mentorship over this past year. You have always been inspirational to me and now my students.”

Honeywood also recognized the invaluable support from her team at Frontier Karate Association. She credited Anthoni Everitt, Paul Simmons, and Hayley Ansell for their unwavering support and guidance, which have been instrumental in steering her career in the best possible direction. “I wouldn’t be where I am today without the support from my karate team at Frontier Karate Association,” Honeywood noted.

In a heartfelt conclusion, Honeywood extended her thanks to her family, whose support has been a cornerstone of her success. She expressed optimism for the future of karate and her ongoing journey within the sport, stating, “I feel very lucky and fortunate and look forward to what is to come in the future for karate.”
