The Forza Karate Clubโs dojo in Rayleigh recently played host to an invigorating training session led by Sensei Anthoni Everitt 6th Dan and Jade Honeywood 3rd Dan. This special session, part of the club’s preparation training alongside sister club, JHKA, followed a grueling training day with association coach Shihan Paul Simmons, 6th Dan with the Frontier Karate Association. The dedication and determination of the participants were palpable as they sought to build on the momentum from the previous day’s rigorous drills.
The session began with an intense warm-up focused on reaction drills, designed to sharpen the practitioners’ reflexes and agility. This was a critical component of the training, as it helped participants hone their ability to respond swiftly and accurately during sparring. Sensei Everitt and Honeywood expertly guided the team through a series of exercises aimed at improving both speed and precision.
As the session progressed, the squad engaged in focused drills to avoid kizami zuki, a fundamental yet challenging technique. The emphasis was on perfecting the execution and evasion of this key strike, enhancing both offensive and defensive skills. The training then transitioned into set drills, where participants were divided into teams to practice coordinated movements and strategies. This team-based approach not only fostered a sense of camaraderie but also allowed for practical application of techniques in a supportive environment.
Overall, the weekend proved to be a resounding success, with all team members demonstrating remarkable progress and commitment. The rigorous preparation under the guidance of Sensei Everitt and Honeywood ensured that the squad is well-prepared for the upcoming competitions, ready to showcase their skills and dedication later in the year.
